BRIAN

I was waiting for such a long time
for a baby to arrive in my life.
My mind stayed strong and calm for years,
yet I still carry the wounds and tears.

No matter how hard I tried, I finally had to accept
the sun would never arrive at my doorstep.

Suddenly, one night, a noise woke me up,
but my tiredness pulled me back to sleep.
I still heard the baby’s voice—so close, so real,
in the silence of the night, the sound was loud and clear.

My instincts suddenly woke inside me.
Are my dreams playing tricks on me?
No sleep—my attention growing fast.
How long will this confusion last?

A small basket stood at the front door,
my heart jumped—tired and sore.
The baby stared straight at me
with blue eyes like a calm sea.

I shouted for help into the darkness,
my thoughts flying into madness.
The wind was cold and strong,
the night spreading its dark hair—long.

A flash of lightning in the distance gave me a sign,
and then I saw a note:

“His name is Brian.
He is the result of my mistake.
He has nothing from me to learn or take.
A loving mother and a warm life—
this is all that matters.
And I know from the bottom of my heart
you will be a wonderful mother.”

I raised my hand to the sky,
my emotions running high.
I hugged the baby to keep him warm—
my son Brian, just born.
